I made the difficult decision to leave law enforcement after 28 years (between 4 departments). I worked from home handling insurance fraud investigations for a few months. I now conduct Fraud Investigations for Nebraska Furniture in The Colony, TX. My availability will be all day Sun/Mon and all other days before 11a and after 8p. My service area remains the same: North Texas Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex.

I retired from the Chicago Police Dept on 15Dec2021 with almost 24 years of service. I began a new career with the Denton County Sheriff’s Office (TEXAS) as a Criminal Investigator on 29Dec2021.

I’m Steve Coyne. I’ve been playing the Bagpipes since 2001 all around the Chicagoland area in my off time from the Chicago Police Department.

From 2002-2011, I participated in the Chicago Police Departments Pipes and Drums (pdcpd.org), playing with fellow Officers to honor our fallen brothers and sisters as well as numerous other civil servant events.

I even appeared in the Batman: The Dark Knight movie as a piper in the funeral parade!

I play bagpipes at a handful of stair climbs, especially those that benefit First Responders and/or have a First Responder category.  I have volunteered or have been requested to play at many of the opening ceremonies, so much so that I am now part of a non-profit organization that donates proceeds to charity: STEP UP & GIVE BACK.  You can read more about those events at the website.

I also played with the hottest south side Irish cover band, Red Rebel County from 2011-2017. We covered Dropkick Murphy’s, The Real McKenzie’s and Flogging Molly. We also had our own tunes.

From 2020-2021, I filled in with the Chicago Garda Pipes & Drums for some local events. We even opened up for Gaelic Storm!! (https://www.chicagogardabagpipesanddrums.com/)
